Editing Toolbar Top Row

Font Family

Clicking on the arrow next to Font Family will open a drop-down list of the Fonts available. Use this function sparingly if at all. There is no guarantee that the person viewing the page will have that font on their computer and if not the browser will its default font. Use heading styles or bold / italics to emphasise text. If something particular is required contact ISD Consultants who can define a special reusable text format for you.

Font Size

Clicking on the arrow next to Font Size will open a drop-down list of the Fonts sizes. Use this function sparingly as increasing the font size of text can result in making the page look ragged and untidy.

Apply Bold to selected text.

Italic

Apply Italic to selected text.

Underscore

Apply Underscore to selected text. This is not recommended as the reader may assume that the text is a link.

Bullets

Create a Bulleted List

Numbered List

Create a Numbered List

Block Quote

To create and emphasise a block of text.

Text Alignment

Align Left

Align text to the left.

Align Centre

Align text to the centre.

Align Right

Align text to the right.

Align Justify

Align text to the full width of the page (justify).

Used to create an internet link to another page on this site or an external website. The text or image that you want to link needs to be selected first before the button will become active.

Remove the internet link from the selected text or image. Your cursor must be sitting on an active link for the button to be active.

Special Formats

Inserts the More tag into your Page. Most blogs only display a small excerpt of a Post and you’re required to click the Post title or a ‘Read more…’ link to continue reading the rest of the article. When you insert a ‘More’ tag into your Post, everything prior to the tag is considered as this excerpt. Most times you’d only use this button when you’re creating a blog Post, rather than a Page.

Horizontal Rule

Add a Horizontal Rule at this point in the text. Again use sparingly if at all as it can break up the pages appearance too much.
